What’s the Canopy?
Located in the heart of downtown Raleigh, next to a used bookstore, the Canopy is a coworking space exclusively for writers. This space, housed in Redbud’s headquarters at 230 Fayetteville Street, features twenty comfortable work spaces along with complementary coffee, tea, and snacks. Writing can be an incredibly lonely endeavor, and if you’re tired of toiling alone on your couch or vying for space at the coffee shop, join our community today.

what is the area around 230 fayetteville street like?
Redbud is the latest literary business to open in the heart of downtown Raleigh. Right next door to the Canopy, you’ll find the Newsagent’s, a shop selling vintage books, vinyl, and coffee. Blackbird Books and Coffee, another beloved bookstore, is a six-minute walk away. On Fayetteville Street and surrounding blocks, you’ll also find Sir Walter Coffee, the Morning Times, Birdie’s Barroom and Kitchen, the downtown Raleigh YMCA, and much more.
What’s parking like downtown?
We recommend parking in the Moore Square Parking Deck, which is a two-minute walk from the coworking space. During the daytime, this garage is free for the first two hours; after that the rate is $3 an hour. If Moore Square is full, we recommend the Wilmington Street Station Parking Garage, which is a five-minute walk. Two-hour street parking is also available on Fayetteville Street and surrounding blocks.
At what hours can i access the space?
The space will be open for coworking from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every weekday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends (we will close on weekends on occasion for special events; members will be notified at least two weeks in advance of any closures).
How do I access the space? if I pick one of the restricted membership tiers, how will you keep track of how often i’m using it?
Canopy members will receive codes that will allow them to access the front door and elevator up to the third floor. We’ll have a sign-in sheet where members will keep track of how often they’re using the space (honor system!).
Is the canopy handicap-accessible?
Yes! We’re located on the third floor, but the elevator opens onto a hallway right next to the space.
will i receive any other perks with my membership besides the ones you already listed?
In short, yes. As we continue to develop this community hub, we look forward to including monthly writer potlucks, silent reading hours, literary-themed crafts nights, open mic events, and a short story reading club. Stay tuned!
When does the canopy open?
The Canopy will officially open on October 1. When you sign up below, you can choose monthly billing or to sign up for a full year.
