I didn’t know what to expect when I was accepted for a writing scholarship throught the Redbud Writing Project. Through the process I got valuable hands on cultivation through my work. Arshia and Emily were thoughtful and encouraging in their reviews. The workshop also provided peer evaluations where others gave input to help us sharpen our scenes, round out our characters and develop a clear voice through the layers of our stories. I loved every minute spent with my class. Scholarship funding gave me this unique opportunity and I am grateful.

scholarships

At Redbud, we believe that everyone should have the privilege of learning how to write and tell their story. In service of that goal, every session, we award at least one part-tuition and one full-tuition scholarship to students in the Triangle who are interested in or have shown commitment to writing.

Since our inception, we have awarded more than $11,000 in scholarships to students in need.

If you would like to apply for a scholarship, all you need to do is send a brief paragraph outlining your financial need and why you would benefit from a scholarship to asimkin (@) redbudwriting.org and ecataneo (@) redbudwriting.org. We accept requests for scholarships on a rolling basis.

Donate to our scholarship fund

Your generous donation will allow us to award more need-based scholarships to students who could not otherwise afford to attend, thus fostering diversity and inclusivity in our workshops. We appreciate anything you can give!
