“Ask an Author Anything” Fundraiser for the Eno Arts Mill
The need
Redbud is partnering with Flyleaf Books for a fundraiser to support the Eno Arts Mill, which was devastated in Tropical Storm Chantal. The Eno Arts Mill is an arts hub located in the historic Eno Mill in West Hillsborough, NC, managed by the Orange County Arts Commission. The Arts Mill provides affordable studios to numerous visual, performing, and literary artists and their mission is to be a community arts space that is safe, welcoming, and accessible for all people.
Due to extensive flood damage that left the Mill uninhabitable, artists at the Mill have lost decades of work and spaces where they can make their art.
Event Description
Join Redbud for a special "Ask an Author Anything" event and fundraiser for the Mill, featuring acclaimed local novelists Joanna Pearson (Bright and Tender Dark), Alison B. Hart (April, May, June, and July and The Work Wife), and Melissa Faliveno (Hemlock)! These authors will share insights about their writing journeys, inspiration, and answer all your burning questions, such as:
-how to cultivate a sustainable writing practice
-how to deal with rejection
-how to query agents
-how to pick an idea for a novel and actually stick with it
and more!
You'll also get a behind-the-scenes look at pressing craft topics such as plot development, revision, and common mistakes.
Q&A Portion: Have a burning question? The floor will be open for a live Q&A where you can ask the authors anything—from writing tips and publishing advice to questions about their books, characters, and upcoming projects.
Don’t miss this unique chance to engage with local published authors in a casual, conversational setting. Bring your questions, your curiosity, and your love of books!
