Bookstores of the Triangle Part 5: So&So Books

Bookstores of the Triangle is a blog series where Redbud highlights bookstores in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Apex, Morrisville, Cary, Pittsboro, Hillsborough, Carrboro, and surrounding environs. Do you have a bookstore you think we should visit? Let us know!

Up until recently, So&So Books was a compact shop sharing a storefront on North Person Street with architecture studio In Situ. It was a cozy place known for its NC State MFA readings, its collection of 33 1/3s, and its book clubs. However, So&So has recently moved across the street to a much more spacious storefront at 719 N. Person (in case you haven’t heard, your very own Redbud Writing Project will be operating out of the garden-level side of this building!). The space has more seating areas, some very trendy plants and Edison bulb lights, a dedicated children’s corner with a chalkboard wall, and, most importantly, lots more books!

We’ve always loved So&So’s willingness to highlight readers from the MFA program and their hip youth-oriented nature, and we’re so excited to see what they can and will do in the new space! (when we’re spying on them from below). Next time you’re out in oh-so-trendy Mordecai, we definitely recommend stopping by.
